Hoiheri
Maori name: Hoiheri, Houhere
Common name: Lacebark
Botanical name: Hoheria populnea
Height:Up to 8m tall and the bushes out about 5m wide.
Where does it grow: By river banks in the North Island.
Parts use for medicine: The bark from the lacebark or hoiheri.
Medicinal use:
The bark may be beaten and placed on the skin for skin problems.
It can be mixed with sap from the harakeke(flax) and it will work very well for skin burns.
